I’m happy to have Tina and Carol join the Team BYB Artist network of instructors. After multiple classes with me, they are taking the methodology I teach and adding their own award-winning approach. I am confident that you will have an excellent time and learn techniques you can use far beyond just animal portraits. ~ Barbara Yates Beasley

One-Day Class
New to art quilting?  Something you’ve been curious about but don’t know where to start?  Confused about the different methods others use?  Love animals?  If any of these scenarios sound interesting, we’ve got the perfect one-day class for you!  Tina Freudenberger and Carol Monti are experienced art quilters whose love for animals and fabric is the perfect combination for your step into art quilting.  Even if you’re familiar with raw-edge applique, their tips might give you new inspiration.

In this one-day class, you’ll choose one of the supplied photos, learn how to make a pattern and create a small wall hanging from the supplied fabric.  The class kit contains everything to complete a 10” x 10 “or 9” x 12” piece of either a cat, dog or a macaw.  This class is a great way to get your feet wet making fabric art from a photograph.

Two-Day Class

Are you ready to jump into a bigger project with more individual freedom to bring a special animal to life using fabric?  In the 2-day class, you’ll bring your enlarged photo, fabric from your stash and jump into making a raw-edge animal portrait.  Designed for confident beginners of art quilting, the students will get a good start on creating a portrait of their chosen animal.  You’ll learn how to make realistic eyes and how to use pens, inks and pencils to add important detail with plenty of individual attention from the instructors.
