Our Vision

Carol Monti and Tina Freudenberger each have had a desire to make animal art quilts for many years. After taking a workshop given by Barbara Yates Beasley, a new passion was born. For several years, we each made animal portraits of our own animals, of wildlife and did commissions for other pet lovers. We entered local and national quilt shows, and were awarded with ribbons and cash prizes. We were honored by how well-received our pieces were by quilters and other animal lovers.
We decided to start teaching our animal portrait class after realizing how many quilters want to make their own animal portraits. Barbara still teaches, but also allows her former students to teach her techniques and spread the joy. We have added our own interpretation of her style and made it available for students in Virginia and surrounding areas.
We teach our workshop a few times per year. We offer a one-day class that uses our photographs or a two-day class where each student brings their own photo to interpret into a fabric art wall hanging. Both classes offer plenty of individual instruction from the two instructors.
